Love Bengaluru is printed on handmade paper and crafted with care by local designers and crafts people. The hand-woven silk covers were developed in partnership with Sonam Dubal, the Delhi-based fashion designer; the bookmarks were hand-stitched by local Bengalurean designer, Chandrashekar; and the rich red Mysore silk bags that the books come in are by Sonali Sattar of Hidden Harmony.

Printed on eco-friendly & non-bleached handmade paper, with hand-printed Tibetan raw silk cover (known as ‘burrey’ or ‘tsen’; handwoven in South Assam, India). Presented in a handmade silk pouch, the entire production process is child-labour free.

Since 1940, Bengalureans have been caught up in a Love affair with this centrally-located eatery. Larger-than-life owner Prem Koshy is passionate about maintaining the family legacy, ensuring that the room, menu and prices have largely remain unchanged – “There are people who have been coming here since before I was born; I dare not mess with their daily cuppa”.

Turn left into the large pillared room with ceiling fans that is full of old world charm – the menu proudly announces that Koshy’s are ‘Katerers to our late Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the Queen of England’. Today’s regulars include the famous and infamous, young and old, designers, writers, consultants, lawyers and cops alike – so sit back, relax, enjoy your coffee and sandwich, or an Indian beer and prawn biryani (reputed to be among the best in town), knowing you are in extremely good company. On Sunday mornings, arrive early to nab a table and enjoy the special Kerala breakfast of appams and stew.
