Prithvi is THE theatre in the city and has an innovative performance on every day (except Mondays), and hosts over 550 shows annually in English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati.
Set in a leafy quiet part of Juhu, the theatre itself is intimate with just 200 seats and has excellent acoustics. Prithvi is a non-profit entity and tickets cost between 100 and 350. On Tue and Wed they are just 80.
The charming open-air cafe serves a legendary Irish coffee and there is a small gallery and a tiny gem of a bookshop with a well-curated selection of books and dvds related to the performing arts.
In November they host an annual Theatre Festival across the city and on February 28th an annual musical concert designed by the world famous tabla player, Ustad Zakir Hussain.
