This vibrant, multi-coloured, handmade, applique carrying-ring is from Rajasthan. This would have been used by a woman to balance a water pot or to carry loads on her head. It was bought from Bikaner, the city surrounded by the Thar Desert that once prospered because of its strategic route on the overland caravan trade between Central Asia and China.
