A beautiful, handmade, brass and enamel coaster made by artisans in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The base of the coaster has an intricate red and green floral design, with a plain brass rim framing it. Meenakari (also minakari) is the process of painting and colouring the surfaces of metals through enamelling. Jaipur is the jewellery capital of India and is acclaimed for outstanding meenakari work, and some of the meenakars (enamellers) also apply this art form to homewares. The word minakari means mina (paradise) and kari (to do or place something onto something else) so together it means to place paradise on an object. This pairs perfectly with METAL 4321.
