Meenakari (also minakari) is the process of painting and colouring the surfaces of metals through enamelling. Jaipur is the jewellery capital of India and is acclaimed for outstanding meenakari work, and some of the meenakars (enamellers) also apply this art form to homewares. The word minakari means mina (paradise) and kari (to do or place something onto something else) so together it means to place paradise on an object.
