This vibrant, multi-coloured, handmade, glass beaded carrying-ring is from Rajasthan. This would have been used by a woman to balance a water pot or to carry loads on her head. It was sourced in Bikaner, the red city, which is surrounded by the Thar Desert and once prospered because of its strategic route on the overland caravan trade between Central Asia and China.
