Meenakari is the process of painting and colouring the surfaces of metals and ceramic tiles through enamelling. This traditional craft originated in Iran and came to the pink city of Jaipur in Rajasthan and is mostly used for jewellery, where the melted glass fills complex metal designs. This glass tile is a raw material for meenakari and is a beautiful object in itself. Lovey to have up against a window where the light can shine through, or it would make a stunning paperweight or special drink coaster.
