Rajasthani Turban Box

This beautiful turban carrier is decorated with applique flowers and a repeating triangle motif. The lid features stylised birds and a brass ring handle. There is a brass hinge on one side of the box and a brass clasp on the other side. The traditional craft of applique recycled old pieces of cloth to create patchwork quilts and other household items. The box was bought from an antique dealer in Jodhpur, Rajasthan almost twenty years ago and today, is considered a rare piece. The condition is appropriate to age, with no tears or obvious faults or damage.
